Good day all! . Here's some recent improvements and new features on Electra. .
1. Plugin that generates list of connections for a reference
Previously, if you need to check the wiring of only one component, a whole connection report needs to be generated to check the wiring one by one. This is quite problematic as the connection report will be two or three pages long, and is flooded with information. This causes difficulty to focus on the wiring connections that you want to check. To combat this issue, we made a plugin that enables you to only generate the connections of a chosen component by selecting its reference. A list of connections will be generated on the top left of the page, and you can move it to anywhere you like. Now, you can read or check the connections clearly and do the wiring for one component at a time. .
2. Tooltip to show drawing names in full on search results
We are aware that you might have drawings with long names that are similar at the beginning but different. Therefore, it can be troublesome to identify the drawings you need from the search result. Don't worry, we got you. The search results are now improved so that when you hover over the names of your drawings, you can see their names in full.
3. The Fitting Manifold symbol
First up, we’ve got a new symbol for hydraulic and pneumatic drawings that is utilized in pipe fittings: the Fitting Manifold symbol. You may find it in the pneumatic or hydraulic stencils under the ‘Miscellaneous’ tab. To customize the symbol and its port numbers, simply right click and choose ‘Set Manifold’, then key in the values you need, as below: Learn more about how it works . .
That's all for now. Reach out to us if you need any help.
This week we're back to reveal some awesome updates and improvements in Electra Cloud/E9. .
1. Microsoft Authentication in Electra Cloud and Electra Education
First, we have something special for Microsoft users. You can now use your Microsoft accounts to login to Electra Cloud. Moreover, Azure and Teams users are also able to sign in by clicking the Microsoft option, as long as your emails are registered with Microsoft.
2. Arrangement of component database categories
To ensure that you can easily find the categories of components you need, we made some changes to the arrangement of the component database category. Previously, all the categories were arranged according to alphabetical order including the custom category that you have created. Now, your custom category will be on top of the list, followed by the default categories. .
3. Even smarter auto-wiring
Was there ever a time where the symbols were auto-wired wrongly, then you had to delete the wires and reconnect them? Fret not, as we have made the auto-wiring feature even smarter. Now, the feature detects if all pins on one side of a symbol are aligned with the other side of a symbol, and wire them only if all pins are connectable. This makes sure that you don’t wire the symbols wrongly, hence, saving your time for correcting the mistake.
Here's some recent feature updates that could speed up your productivity in Electra Cloud/E9. .
1. Plugin categorization
Furthermore, we’ve grouped and categorized our long list of plugins, hence it’s much simpler for you to locate, manage and run the plugins. Now, you don’t have to find them one by one when you need to run multiple plugins, especially when they are located far from each other. .
2. Printing PDFs in Electra E9
Electra E9 users, this is for you. Before this update, you could only print a page of your PDF document at one time. Now, you will be able to print multiple pages or selective pages of PDFs in Electra E9 with high accuracy. In fact, you can also print them directly without having to export the PDFs.
3. Icons and descriptions in plugins search results
Another major improvement to the plugins section are the icons and descriptions shown when you search for plugins. Previously, only the name of the plugin was shown, which can be harder to differentiate if it is quite similar. It is now easier to identify the plugins you need when there is an icon and description shown for each plugin. . Hope the above updates could be of good use to you. Keep an eye out for more from us!
We're back with some recent updates made for Electra. Check them out below.
1. Colour fill and rounded corners for text block
We made some awesome changes to the text block. Previously, when you position a text block on top of an object, the text overlaps with the object, and makes it difficult to be read. With the new colour fill feature, you can fill colours in the text blocks so that the text can be read easily. In addition to that, you may now apply rounded corners to your text blocks aside from the default sharp corners.
2. Customize stencil view
That’s not all, you can now adjust the view of the stencils according to your preferences. Select the hamburger menu on the stencil panel, select ‘Stencil view’ and change the amount of columns you want in the panel. This function allows you to have control on your stencil bar’s interface.
3. Search box for plugins
When there are many plugins, it can be tedious to scroll through the panel and find what you need. Now, you can simply search for the plugins you need at the newly added plugins search box. The function will automatically show the selected plugin.
What do you think of the updates? Let us know down below!
Here are some of our recent feature updates in Electra: .
1. Distribute shapes horizontally and vertically
We added a feature that distributes the space between shapes evenly, horizontally and vertically. Just click on the ‘Aligned selected shapes’ icon on your toolbar, then choose ‘Distribute horizontally’ or 'Distribute vertically’ and it will divide the space accurately for you.
2. Sub panel
Next, another brand new feature is the ability to add and generate sub panels. You may have specific sub panels in your wiring diagram to differentiate from the main panel. Hence, this feature allows you to generate the layout you need for that specific sub panel.
To divide your circuits into sub panels, just drag and drop the sub panel symbol onto your drawing and drag the handles to encapsulate your circuits. .
3. Component Database UI changes
Apart from that, we have also further improved our component database’s interface. Now, the left side is the components’ categories while the right side is where you can view and edit them. When you hover over the component categories, there’s a kebab menu for you to directly choose whether you need to add, edit or delete a category.
That's all from us for now. Do look out for more updates very soon!
